Invercargill South

Invercargill South Lions is a mixed-gender club, which follows the Lion's motto "We Serve" Our current projects are operating a Candy Floss caravan at a wide variety of functions. The major event is KIDZONE, which operates yearly at James Hargest College and involves hundreds of children. It lasts for 6 days. We also assist at major rugby games at Rugby Park, on the gates and guiding patrons to their seats in the stands. New projects are also considered from time to time. We also assist as drivers for Meals on Wheels and help out doing the gardens at Hospice Southland and other duties when requested. Our Club also maintains Kew Bush, (pictured above) which is adjacent to Kew Hospital. This includes keeping the track in a groomed condition for easy walking, planting natives and trapping pests. From time to time assistance is given to street appeals. We also offer funding to suitable individuals and groups, mainly local.

Meetings are held twice per month, on the first and third Tuesdays. The first meeting is Business and the second one social, which mainly means a speaker, an occasional outing or something else internal, usually with a touch of humour. New members are most welcome and can attend a couple of meetings with no obligation.
