Wairarapa Ruamahanga

The Ruamahanga Lions Club is a Lions Club based in the beautiful Wairarapa. We are different in that we are a 'cyber club' with fewer formal meetings than other clubs, as most of our communications are by email or a private Facebook page. When we do get together it is for projects and fun events.

Although we have only been going since August 2017 we have already begun to make an impact on our local communities.

  • We have a contract with the Department Conservation to maintain the reserve at ANZAC Bridge south of Eketahuna.  Which gives us all an excuse for getting some fresh air and our hands dirty planting native trees
  • We have provided carpark management and marshalling assistance at events around the Wairarapa (and have some more coming up if you like high-viz jackets and lots of pointing!)
  • We are getting firewood ready for sale next year - for fundraising, as well as to provide discounted wood to low income families.  We've just purchased our own woodsplitter to help us with this.
  • We are currently talking to Te Awhina Cameron House in Masterton about how we can assist their clients

The Club is very inclusive, and we welcome everyone in the Wairarapa community, no matter your gender, religion, ethnicity, or whether you prefer a latte over a cup of tea. You don't have to be a business person to join either.

Contact one of the Club officers shown on this page if you are interested in being part of our Lion's Pride!
