The North Otago Lions group ran the Specials Needs Pool Party at The Waitaki Aquatic Centre last Saturday the 18 August.  It was once again a great success with 40 special needs people and their caregivers taking part.  They spent about an hour trying out the pools, play equipment and spa then got to enjoy a B.B.Q. cooked by husbands and some members.

Once again the staff from the pool were fantastic; nothing is ever a bother to them.

Being told that the pool party was about to take place those eligible start counting down the days.  As one carer said she has been attending since day one and she will come until she can no longer attend.   To be amongst them, watching the enjoyment they get out of it knowing that they have to pool to themselves is rewarding.

The politeness of the special need people would show up a lot of people.  Yes please and Thankyou as they are being served, no pushing and shoving.

This is one of the most rewarding things that our club has been involved with.
